Li’l Kontra continued her impressive 2yo season and further strengthened her CV with a 3rd placing in Saturdays $100,000 Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes where she came out of the widest gate and was 6th at the 400m mark.
Her record now stands at 8 starts for 2 wins, 4 seconds and 2 third placings and over $170,000 in prizemoney for the daughter of Krupt.
Her 3 times racing at Group or Listed Level sits at 1 win, 1 second and a third.
After the race on Saturday Ryan said about the filly ‘She’s got an amazing constitution. She’s never has a sore day in her life. I’ve been looking for her to give me a reason to go out and she never gives one. We’ve looked after her and she’s spent a lot of time during the prep up at Willow Grove Stud’
Balfour said the horse was raced by a large group of stable supporters who had raced her full brother Cashed and her half sister Embecee Lil – ‘They’ve all had a ball and the family continue to give back to our stable and our owners.’
Balfour will let the dust settle before seeing what is next for the smart filly.
